SUBSTATION COST ESTIMATOR

  Instructions

  1. This is a comprehensive tool to determine the cost of building a substation or any small portion of it. All material cost is populated. Enter the quantity for an estimate.
  2. Each piece of equipment is given more than one (1) type. Why? Consider a 345kV – 138kV station, if there’s one breaker present for each voltage then (in the form to the left, under circuit breaker) pick a 345kV breaker in type 1 and 138kV for type 2.
  3. Certain equipment require structural steel. For instance, a disconnect switch needs a switch stand, a CCVT needs a pedestal etc. In these instances, the steel cost is included in the cost of the equipment.
